Description
This stone can be found at the Irish Hunger Memorial, a place I had no idea existed until I came across it while exploring the west side of Manhattan. It's built from pieces of reconstructed walls brought over from Ireland, and has a sloping terrace of grass and foliage native to Ireland. Along its winding path, you can find stones taken from the actual counties whose names are carved into them, such as Limerick, Kerry, and Cork and the like. It's a very quiet, out-of-the-way memorial, but once you enter, the powerful, heartbreaking stories and emotions overwhelm you.
